We, the management at Lakeside would like to thank all of our members for their support throughout the 2011 golf season. Although this year has been a struggle both for Lakeside and its members with the wet season, we are optimistic that the 2012 season will be more playable. Don’t forget to take advantage of the early rates on your memberships. There are great savings if you go on our monthly payment plan or pay before Jan 31st 2012.

As this season draws to an end, we would like to remind you of a few upcoming events. Our annual Tombstone event is on Saturday Oct 22nd and all are welcome for this members closing event. The cost is $10.00/person and we are boasting a “Chili Cookoff”. Yummmm……. Play this event and you will be glad you did!! It is a two person team and is all about fun. To sign up, call the Proshop and register by Oct 18th.

Our 2nd annual Christmas Party will be held a little earlier this year on November 18th in hopes more members and guests are able to attend before the busy season of Christmas arrives. It was a lot of fun last year and with Karaoke planned for this year, the laughs should be even greater. There is no cost to this event due to our 50/50 draw all season.

Men’s Night 2011 was highly successful. 2012 will present the same format as 2011 with a few changes that will allow for better competition and prizing throughout the different divisions. Wednesday night will continue to be Men’s night and we hope to attract more golfers next season. This is a great social atmosphere with light competition to boot. It’s all fun with a great season finale.

~~public golfers may play – green fee $10.00 and $5.00 entry for men’s night (first time free)
~~Meal & drink specials.

Ladies Night will be transferring from Thursday night to Tuesdays in the New Year. Tuesday will be ladies day for both pin draw and the working ladies.
New format:
~~6pm Shotgun
~~1st Tuesday of each month will be “friend night”….friends golf for Free
~~3rd Tuesday of each month is Intercity Ladies Night, followed by entertainment in clubhouse following round.
~~Meal & drink specials
~~Ladies Night will collect a small fee towards a meal and door prizes for season finale
Incorporating into one… ladies day will be a huge event day.

Lakeside’s Ladies night first annual golf for the cure event was a huge success due to the efforts of Chris Buck, Cindy Wade and Lynn Harris. Their efforts were recognized provincially with an award. This award was a $5000.00 donation in Lakeside’s name to “breast cancer research”.

Fun Night continues in 2012…2 person teams play every Friday night at 6pm
~~this format is a mixed bag – you just have to play to get the concept – just know that it’s lots of fun, laughs and a definite social event !!

Thanks to a solid maintenance staff, Lakeside was in exceptional condition this year. Course improvements are on going for Lakeside, 30 new trees and steady improvement to cart paths and drainage were a big part of 2011 and will continue into 2012. Planning continues for major projects at Lakeside. It is essential that these projects are completed properly to maintain the integrity of Lakeside for both playability and maintenance.
Travis Young, our Club Professional, was indeed an asset to Lakeside this season. Kid’s camp and junior clinics were well attended with lots of learning and activities. 2012 membership rates are now available at the club office or on our website along with a monthly payment plan. Make sure to take advantage of our early rates.

Lynn Harris will be hosting a bowling event at Fairlanes bowling centre on December 10th, 2011 in memory of her son Wayne Harris. Anyone wishing to participate in this event may contact Lynn at lmtharris@hotmail.com for further information. All monies raised from this event are forwarded to Moncton Hospital Pediatrics Unit. Last year $2500.00 was raised, hopefully numbers can be surpassed.
Lakeside will be offering all club repairs, including re-gripping, re-shafting shortening and lengthening of clubs, and lots more all winter long. Don’t wait, get your clubs ready now, for the 2012 season. For all repairs and services call Mike at 850-6765.
Get an early start to the 2012 golf season at Lakeside with “Moncton’s only indoor golf simulator”. Starting in January with dates to follow. Indoor lessons will also be available.
